PSMA Postcode Boundaries

The Postcode dataset is a result of a collaborative effort between the PSMA and Australia Post.  It includes boundary and centroid ('geometric centre') data for some 2627 postcode boundaries across Australia.  Like other key datasets, updates are scheduled on a quarterly basis.

Postcode Distance Table

Callpoint also offers a separate dataset, being that of Postcode distances, created from the centroid point data above.  This dataset includes the straight line distance in kilometres from each Postcode centroid to every other centroid.  For instance:

3000, 3002, 1.7 (being the distance in km from the centroid of postcode 3000 to 3002)
3000, 3003, 3.3
3000, 3004, 2.5

This table can be very useful for embedding basic 'find my nearest distributor' to web site visitors for those businesses who sell via retail outlets or other distribution channels.
