Metropolitan Broadband Blackspot Program Geospatial Consultancy
Callpoint submitted a response to the then Department of Communications Information Technology and the Arts (DCITA) Metropolitan Broadband Blacskpot Progam Geospatial Consultancy tender request in July 2005.
Callpoint secured the project, which involved spatial analysis of broadband availability to the some 7 million premises (the project scope being Australia's main 15 Urban Centre & Localities).
Callpoint was pleased to have secured the assistance of TeleResources for the wireless broadband aspects of the project. This required expert analysis for the wireless coverage data that was received by DCITA from a number of telcos.
After high level outcomes were shared by DCITA, Callpoint understands that the MBBP project gained visibility amongst a number of State Governments. This then fostered further under-served reduction strategies.
Callpoint believes that the analysis also raised awareness of the usefulness of G-NAF amongst government, telcos and other industry stakeholders.
