Broadband Advisory Group (BAG Submission, Aug 2002) Established in March 2002, the Broadband Advisory Group (BAG) was an expert advisory body on broadband issues. Its role was to assist the Federal Government to ensure that its broadband policy framework optimises the economic and social benefits that Australia derives from broadband services (extract from BAG's home page, found via www.noie.gov.au).

Author's note: In the BAG's final report (January 2003), two noteworthy recommendations were made. Refer Section 7 (p47), Flexible Regulatory Regime and Policy Setting:
- Need to reduce information asymmetries facing new entrants
- Need to restore investor confidence in the telecommunications industr
