ExchangeInfo and ExchangeInfo Plus (TM of Mapinfo Australia)

In late November 2004, Telstra Wholesale appointed Mapinfo Australia as the sole reseller for Telstra Wholesale's geospatial exchange datasets.

The list of datasets include:
- Telstra Exchange Service Area (ESA) boundaries
- Telstra exchange building coordinates
- Telstra ESA Distribution Areas (DA)
- Telstra Large Pair Gain System (LPGS) boundaries, covering RIM, CMUX, RCM and DCS

These datasets appeared in December 2004 as ExchangeInfo and ExchangeInfo Plus, and have since been regularly updated.  The key difference between the datasets is that ExchangeInfo Plus includes LPGS boundaries, whereas ExchangeInfo does not.

ExchangeInfo Plus has purchase eligibility restrictions, which disadvantages entities such as Wireless Broadband providers and Local Government.

The above release represented a major advance over the "handful of polygons" era that faced industry in the 2000 - 2003 timeframe (refer ATUG Broadband User Group nomination)

Coincidentally, the list of datasets is the same as that submitted by Callpoint's principal to the Senate Broadband Inquiry.
