About Callpoint
Callpoint has been providing geospatial solutions to the problems faced by the broadband industry since 2000. These problems and needs centre around a lack of understanding about broadband availability, and a lack of information regarding potential gaps/ opportunities.
Access to relevant third party data is imperative to fulfilling the above. Given the situation in 2000, Callpoint saw the critical need for, and actively championed, the more open availability of Telstra exchange boundaries and related geospatial datasets (refer Active Industry Participant below).

Our Team
Callpoint's team is led by Brian Beckor. We also work and actively partner with other individuals and organisations to meet the varying needs of our clients.
Brian Beckor, Principal
Brian commenced his career at OTC (now Telstra International), where he held engineering, product development and product management roles over a twelve year period. Highlights included the launch and management of Skystream, the digital satellite service that carried Australia's first internet traffic (at the then amazing speed of 56Kbps, and at the then new low price of a mere A$12,000 monthly for an international half circuit!). He also launched and managed Call Plan, Australia's first international voice VPN, based on an Intelligent Network architecture.
Brian founded Callpoint in 1993, initially focussed on market research and specialised assistance to telcos and hi-tech start ups. In 2000, he was enlisted by Cisco to help a new carrier, Request DSL, model the most attractive exchanges for its DSLAMs (case study). This became the opportunity to apply geospatial analysis to his client's broadband site selection needs. It also heralded the development of GeoCarrier® and Callpoint AQ Pro® to further solve broadband specific challenges.
Brian Beckor holds an MBA (Macquarie University) and a BE (Electrical) from UNSW.
