Callpoint - G-NAF Augmented Cadlite®

The PSMA Cadlite® dataset contains a digital representation of some 10.5 million cadastral boundaries around Australia.

The Cadastre theme includes four attribution columns associated with each cadastral polygon.  These columns are sufficient for many mapping applications, where the emphasis is display simplicity.

There are other applications that require a richer set of attribution columns, for instance:

  • The display of street numbers within the cadastral parcels
  • Linkages between Cadlite, G-NAF addresses and other datasets within back-end IT systems
  • In-depth spatial analysis

In these cases, it can be very useful to reference an associated street address from a given Cadastral polygon (or vice versa).  Inspired by the needs of a fibre optic telecoms carrier, Callpoint developed a set of spatial processes that operate on both Cadlite and G-NAF.

Callpoint Spatial offers two enhanced versions, 'Extra' and 'Augmented'.  'Extra' includes useful columns such as the Parcel ID.  'Augmented' provides the full set of columns, including those derived from the 'within parcel' G-NAF analysis.

Description

CAD_PID Y Y Y The Persistent Identifier (PID) for the feature
CAD_POLYGON_PID Y Y Y The PID for the polygon
DATE_CREATED Y Y Y Date record was created
DATE_RETIRED Y Y Y Date record was retired
PARCEL_ID   Y Y The Jurisdiction ID associated with the parcel
LGA_PID   Y Y The Local Government Area PID that the parcel falls within
LOCALITY_PID   Y Y The Locality PID that the parcel falls within
STATE_PID   Y Y The State PID that the parcel falls within
GNAF_Address_Detail_PID     Y The PID associated with the GNAF_NumberFirst_1, GNAF_Street1 and Locality combination below

GNAF_Number_First_1

    Y

The smallest street number associated with the G-NAF address point that is spatially contained within the cadastral polygon

GNAF_Number_Last_1

    Y

The largest street number associated with the G-NAF address point that is spatially contained within the cadastral polygon

GNAF_Street1

    Y

The street name & street type associated with the above

GNAF_Number_First_2

    Y

(In the case of a corner), the smallest street number associated with the G-NAF address point of the second street that is spatially contained within the cadastral polygon

GNAF_Number_Last_2

    Y

(In the case of a corner), the largest street number associated with the G-NAF address point of the second street that is spatially contained within the cadastral polygon

GNAF_Street2

    Y

(In the case of a corner), the street name & street type associated with the second Street above

GNAF_Locality_Name

    Y

The name of the locality that spatially contains the G-NAF address point(s)

GNAF_Building_Name

    Y

The name of the building associated with the premises, where a building name exists

GNAF_Count

    Y

The number of G-NAF premises that are spatially contained within the cadastral polygon (can be useful for market analysis purposes)

Please note:

  • The processes that perform the augmentation are very compute intensive. A key benefit of licensing Callpoint Spatial's Augmented Cadlite is that you gain access to these attribution columns 'out of the box'. By contrast, performing these processes 'on the fly' within an application could result in a sluggish user experience, or production delays

  • We include two sets of street name/ street number columns to cater for when a corner building includes G-NAF address points from both intersecting streets. Callpoint Spatial has developed fair expertise with street intersections
